Congress gears up to take on BJP in cyberspace

BHARUCH: Congress is gearing up to counter the propaganda of BJP in the cyberspace. The party believes that positive use of social media will help build good society while its misuse can damage it.
Ahmed Patel, political secretary to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi while addressing the participants at a party workshop on social media and effective use of information technology in Bharuch on Monday, said had Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel been alive today, they would have been shocked to see the misuse of their names.More than 2,000 delegates from across the state were present at the workshop.
Attacking the Gujarat government, he said public money is being used for individual branding while unemployment is increasing day by day.
Patel told his party workers, "It is time to promote UPA government's initiatives on Right to Information (RTI) Act, Lokpal Bill and tribal rights etc. The Congress role in building the nation can not be overruled. On all fronts UPA government has played a significant role for the benefit of the people at large without making much noise."
